Hackers have stolen $400,000 (Rs.61520000.00) of the virtual currency Stellar Lumen in an online attack on Saturday (13th Jan 2018).

The group hijacked the server that hosts Black-Wallet, a web-based wallet application that stores lumens and stole 669,920 from user's accounts

Stellar Lumen is thought to be the 8th most popular virtual currency in the world.

The hackers have moved the money to Bittrex, a virtual currency exchange, where they are likely to convert it into another digital currency to hide their tracks, Bleeping computer reported.

BlackWallet's creator disabled his hosting account and websites after that.

The developer, said: "I am sincerely sorry about this and hope that we will get the funds back.

"I am in talks with my hosting provider to get as much information about the hacker and will see what can be done with it.

"If you ever entered your key on BlackWallet, you may want to move your funds to a new wallet."
